Client: HYPERTHERM
Project: INTERACTIVE DEMO UNIT
►Project
Description
-
Hypertherm and AXIS partnered to create a multi-faceted demo unit for use in specialty retail locations.
The product displayed, Hypertherm’s latest innovation for their Powermax cartridge system, streamlined the use process for their customers - turning what once was a five-step process into one step. The demo unit needed to show a side-by-side comparison of both technologies in action with a focus on overall productivity gains and compatibility with existing product lines.

OBJECTIVES
-
Create a way to capture and compare speed (time-saved) between the existing five-step technology and the new one-step technology
Clearly demonstrate ease of changing out the cartridges
Provide counter and floor unit options
Ensure adequate co-branding opportunities for partners
►DESIGN
PROCESS
-
AXIS created three initial directions for Hypertherm to consider: the Sweep, the Framed Base, and the Tower. Design details are provided in the next section.
Ultimately, Hypertherm chose the Sweep concept which AXIS perfected through prototyping and testing.
