►DESIGN OBJECTIVES
-
Due to the relatively large SKU assortment, AXIS was immediately challenged to design a visually impactful, easily updatable, uncrowded display able to capture consumer attention within tight quarters. It needed to “scream off the shelf,” allow budtenders to frequently swap out product, and accommodate a variety of packaging sizes, shapes, and brand aesthetics, while remaining seamless and consistent.
Additional Considerations:
Make it modular - provide multiple merchandising options off of a single unit - think in layers
Focus on durability and security - account for hands-on shopping - build it to last
Make it pretty - truly embody the Grove’s brand guidelines - remember the visual first impression is just as important as the product itself
►Project process
-
AXIS began designing a system for the Yummies line first. Then, based on feedback, carried that design intent into the Vert line.
Key Design Features:
Past experience from the Cosmetics industry was used to inform a design with built-in flexibility, featuring one base structure that fits multiple pieces, thus unlimited planograms. This allows The Grove and its dispensary partners the ability to use the system as a connected family or a single wedge, and in counter, shelf, or in-case merchandising environments. The system works with a single product line, or mix and matched with both lines together.
Uniform wedges (i.e., bases) were created with a series of pre-cut grooves to accommodate product display. Then, graphic overlay pieces were constructed for each product line to mirror the grooves, making product and graphic swaps a fool-proof “snap in” process.
